Sales Engineering Director, Asia Pacific & Japan, Splunk Inc.
KAN Tat Wee is one of the core members to start the Splunk business in the Asia Pacific & Japan region. He is the Director of Sales Engineering and grew the Sales Engineering organization from 10 to 70 Sales Engineers, Partner SEs and Architects over the course of 5 years. His day job includes leading strategic efforts to support the Splunk team and develops a world-class technical team that is focused on sales and customer success.

He travels around the region and meets up with customers to understand their businesses and prescribe solutions to improve their processes using a data-driven approach with machine data. Machine data is information automatically generated by a computer process, application, or mechanism without the active intervention of a human. It is one of the main drivers for disruptive industries to be successful in the past ten years.

Prior to Splunk, Tat Wee was the leading Engineer for the ArcSight’s business in Asia Pacific & Japan. ArcSight was the provider of security and compliance solutions for modern enterprises. The company was acquired by HP Enterprise in 2010.

Tat Wee also spent five years in global and regional banks and was responsible for the banks' security and compliance posture. He led the analysis to understand the functional capabilities and gaps in the existing systems and infrastructure and helped to strategize the technology direction of the bank for the next few years.

Tat Wee is excited about the potential of machine data, and how it can help organizations to monitor, search, analyze, visualize and act on the massive streams of machine data generated by the websites, applications, servers, networks, mobile and other devices that power the business.
