Prior to this, she was IBM Singapore’s Country Manager for Public Sector (Government & Healthcare) where she has successfully driven business growth.
Specifically, she was instrumental in forging a strong partnership business development plan with the government eco-system, including its research agencies, technology incubators and the open-source community. Much of these plans centered around Singapore’s growth agenda such as SmartNation, and other foundational pillars such as education, healthcare, defense & law enforcement.
She has also personally undertaken a series of executive leadership interactions with government officials; spear-heading the sharing of IBM’s innovative capabilities with the objective of leveraging its solutions to make life-changing impact to Singaporeans through its civil service.
Before the public-sector leadership mission, Michelle was leading the financial services sector in a similar capacity with clients in banking, 2 investment fund houses and various financial markets niches to successfully drive double digit growth during her tenure.
In each of these leadership roles, her focus is on enabling her team to drive IBM thought leadership and providing business vision to clients in the new era of digitization to jointly build industry transformation with clients and the IBM corporation. Michelle also spent considerable time in IBM building her technical and account management expertise in its systems hardware (mainframe, AIX & AS400 during its early days) business unit. Her career interactions across the years spanned the entire enterprise space, ranging from financial services, industrial, retail and now in public sector.
Michelle holds a bachelor of business administration from the National University of Singapore.
